One of a kind
You will get the opportunity to join a global dry bulk freight trader, shipping many million tons of cargo each year, concentrating on integrated activities of chartering, trading and market analysis.
In a fast-paced trading-floor environment, you will facilitate trades and engage with clients both internally and externally.
Your main areas of responsibilities
- develop and build relationships with third-party cargo in Germany/Poland/Europe
- identify and pursue trading flows complimentary to Navi Merchants existing tonnage and cargo book with a focus on grains.
- identify arbitrage opportunities and leverage in-house volumes to generate profits with the rest of the freight trading team.
- maximise each execution and be on top of operations matters to make sure best practices are in place.
- liaise with the freight operations teams in Hamburg giving clear instructions.
- communicate with internal and external traders/brokers/clients/charters and vessel owners/brokers to price freight.
- analyse external price proposals to determine fair market prices.
- negotiate freight rates and other Charter Party contractual terms.
- utilize in-house research and knowledge to anticipate freight market demands and trends, both short and long-term
- update CM Navigator and uses it daily as the primary pricing tool.

You do expectedly already have 4+ years’ experience within dry bulk and are familiar with major cargo routes in Cont/Baltic and or Mediterranean/Black Sea. We prefer candidates that already have experience in freight trading – supplementary experience within grain being a major plus. And you know what it requires timewise always being available in an international trading environment.
Other people describe you as having a high working capacity, strong analytical skills, and being socially and interpersonally gifted. And we know that if to thrive with us, you must be hard-working, self-motivated, assertive and like being hands-on.
We expect that you are proficient in English, complimented by either French or German.
