Copenhagen Merchants Group has grown steadily since 1977 - and we're not done. With a portfolio spanning commodity brokerage, terminal operations, digital platforms, shipping, plant-based proteins, and now also battery & energy systems, we operate across multiple industries and continents.
To support continued development, we're now looking for additional horsepower to join the CEO Task Force. You’ll work closely with our CEO, your Task Force peer Malthe, and the leaders and other key-drivers across the group - driving high-priority initiatives where structure, speed, and smart thinking make a real difference.
The role
We’re not hiring you to “run a stakeholder map,” colour-code a Gantt chart, or build a 94-slide deck no one reads.
We’re hiring you because you can spot opportunities, cut through complexity, and not least move things forward - with just enough structure to keep things on track, and just enough courage to challenge when needed.
This is not a support role. It’s a hands-on strategy and execution position, right at the centre of our business.
- In practice, this means you'll drive and support commercial and development initiatives and execution in concrete business projects – e.g.,
- further development of CM Navigator (incl. possible consulting spin-off)
- help shape best in class freight sales and practices
- help drive our initiatives in subsidiaries – e.g. Aarhus Protein and Schultz Shipping
- support the integration of our new vessels in Navi Merchants (6 new-build vessels to be delivered from 2026)
- Drive new business ventures including our efforts within battery energy storage solutions (“BESS”)
- Grow our terminal presence through M&A as well as developing our existing portfolio
- Assist our board with relevant business reviews and strategic proposals to keep growing our company and activities
- Develop business cases, models, and decision materials
- Push progress on selected initiatives across companies
- Be a trusted sparring partner to the CEO and key stakeholders
- Deliver high-quality communication materials (boards, partners, internal use)
- Navigate ambiguity with structure, curiosity, and hands-on execution
Who we’re looking for
- You have 2–5 years of experience from a top-tier consulting firm
- You can think big and execute small – and enjoy doing both
- You are fluent in English – Danish is a plus
- You master PowerPoint, Excel, and LLM’s (e.g. ChatGPT) – and don’t mind PM tools
- You’re not afraid of ambiguity, and you know how to move things forward without a title
- You’re a team player with high integrity and an (true Octo) entrepreneurial spirit, and you have a good idea about what ‘Merchanteering’ means
