And we don’t run typical university internships.

Our first 'experimental' intern joined in 2024. In 2025, we took on three more. And based on how things look, we expect to welcome 2-4 interns in 2026 as well.

Copenhagen Merchants Group is a Danish, family-owned “small-big” player within essential commodities: from brokerage and shipping to terminals, logistics, plant proteins, and digital products. So yes - a profound curiosity about shipping and commodities is essential.

As an intern with us, you’ll join revenue-facing teams, work with real data, and help solve concrete problems that move cargo and markets.

Tracks

• Digital & Data (CM Navigator): Sales to commodity traders, customer support, data pipelines, SoMe marketing, UI/UX etc.
• Chartering and Operations (Navi Merchants): Laytime, Finance, Vessel–cargo matching, indications and recaps, bunker and route checks, etc.
• Freight Research (Navi Merchants/CM Navigator): Market research, basis and freight pricing support, client prep, etc.
• Market Analysis (CM Batteries): Regulation mapping, impact on cost curves and financial projections, etc.

What interns actually do

You’ll own a scoped project with weekly deliverables, access live and historical datasets, collaborate with brokers, operators, and product managers – and present findings to real stakeholders.

Who should apply

Bachelor’s or Master’s students within economics, business, data science, engineering, digital design, or related fields. You bring strong analytical skills, solid Excel – and Python or SQL is a plus. Clear written English is expected. Danish language an advantage

Practicalities

Location: Copenhagen (Nordhavn)
Start: Rolling throughout 2026
Compensation: By agreement for any work beyond internship hours
