Market Connector - Domestic Agri Commodities (Germany)
Want to turn relationships into deals? Let’s talk
The job – minus the corporate fluff
We're not looking for a spreadsheet jockey or a passive desk-sitter.
We’re looking for someone who wants to make calls, close deals, and build relationships that actually move grain across Germany.
As part of our Hamburg team, you’ll help connect buyers and sellers in the domestic agri-commodity market. You’ll follow prices, trends and news. You’ll learn how to speak "broker" fluently and eventually manage your own customer portfolio.
What you’ll actually do
- Build and maintain your own customer base
- Follow German domestic (paper) markets
- Connect buyers and sellers – and close business
- Track prices, S&Ds, market trends and key news
- Visit clients and attend trade fairs
- Share intel and insights with the broader CM team
- Help grow our commercial intelligence platforms
You may not be a broker yet – but you have the DNA
- You’re proactive, self-driven and curious
- You like talking to people (a lot)
- You take pride in following up, following through and making things happen
- You like the idea of working internationally but with local accountability
- You’re outgoing, reliable and hands-on by nature
- You’ve probably recently finished your studies – most likely at bachelor’s or master’s level – and are now ready to turn theory into action (and phone calls).
- Fluent in German and English – bonus points for love of agri and octopuses.
What we offer
We offer a front-row seat to real business and a real chance to shape your own career and become a Merchanteer. We’ll teach you what you need to know and let you take ownership when you’re ready.
You’ll join a small, entrepreneurial broker team that’s part of one of the most respected names in commodity brokerage.
Also, we don’t do boring. We do trade. We do relationships. We do growth.
Growing Together.
Location
Our Hamburg office is in Speicherstadt – a place where the walls have seen decades of trade. If they could talk, they’d tell stories of deals, handshakes, and maybe a missed shipment or two. These days, they’d probably just mumble something about S&Ds, freight spreads, and “another call from Copenhagen or Sao Paolo”.
Interested?
Apply through our website – either with your CV or your LinkedIn profile.
Feel free to include a short video intro if you’re up for it.
Timing-wise, we’re heading into vacation season – so the deadline for showing interest is August 3rd. You’ll hear from us no later than Wednesday, August 6th.
There will be several potential colleagues to meet during the recruitment process, but we aim to sign with our new colleague before September rolls in.
Start date? As soon as possible after signing.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Christopher Riemann or Simon Bach (and no – there are no contact details. As a broker-to-be, we trust you’ll figure it out.)
PS.
We do have an octopus as our cultural ambassador. But you’ll be introduced to T.W. Heart later.
